The Western Azerbaijan Community has criticised what it described as continuing “hysteria” in Armenia over the visit of foreign diplomats accredited in Azerbaijan to Karabakh and East Zangezur.

According to the community, the reaction showed that “the Armenian people are not ready for peace”.

It said Armenian authorities should be preparing the public for peace rather than making what it called unacceptable statements.

The community also criticised Armenia’s claims over cultural heritage in Azerbaijan, referring to comments by the Armenian prime minister about the Ganjasar Monastery.

It called on Armenian society to stop what it described as encroachment on the lands and culture of other peoples and accused Armenia of destroying Azerbaijani mosques, historical monuments and cemeteries.

The statement also accused Armenia of falsifying the ownership of the Blue Mosque in Yerevan, comparing this with the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque in Shusha during the occupation.
