Netflix has unveiled first-look images from its upcoming six-part adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice and confirmed that the series will premiere on December 3, 2026.
Austen’s Regency-era novel is one of Britain’s most enduring literary works and has been adapted numerous times, including the acclaimed 1995 BBC series starring Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth and the 2005 Universal Pictures film featuring Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen, What's On Netflix writes.
The new Netflix adaptation has been in development for several years and will bring Austen’s story to a new generation of viewers.
The series is directed by Euros Lyn, whose previous credits include Netflix’s Heartstopper and episodes of Doctor Who. Emma Corrin, who stars in the series, is also making her debut as an executive producer.
Corrin joins Lyn and fellow executive producers Laura Lankester, Will Johnston, Louise Mutter and Dolly Alderton, with production handled by Lookout Point, the company behind Gentleman Jack and Happy Valley.
Netflix’s adaptation follows the five Bennet sisters as they navigate romance, family pressures and the expectations of Regency society.
Netflix confirmed the main cast several months ago, with the newly released images offering a first look at the actors in their roles.
The six-part Pride & Prejudice will be available globally on Netflix from December 3, 2026.
