Slovak firefighters were tackling a fire on September 15 at a building owned by ZVS Holding, a company that manufactures ammunition.
A representative of the MSM Group, which owns the holding, said the fire broke out on the roof of the building during repair work being carried out by an external contractor, Caliber.Az reports via Slovak media.
The Dianie v Snine Facebook page first brought the fire to public attention after noon. Black smoke was seen rising from the workshop.
“A major fire has been reported in the area of the former Vihorlat plant, and several fire engines have been dispatched to the scene!” the post read.
Thick black smoke was visible from several parts of the city, according to the report. City authorities advised residents to limit their time outdoors while firefighting operations continued.
