A delegation led by Pan-African Parliament President Fatih Butbig visited Azerbaijan’s Alley of Honour and Victory Park in Baku during a visit to the country, Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis said.
Butbig paid tribute to Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s national leader and a founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, by laying flowers at his grave in the Alley of Honour, Caliber.Az reports via the Azerbaijani parliament.
The delegation then visited Victory Park, where members laid bouquets at the monument commemorating the Azerbaijani victory in the 2020 Patriotic War.
The guests were briefed on the history and significance of Victory Park, which was established to commemorate what Azerbaijani authorities describe as the heroism of the Azerbaijani people during the war.
The delegation was accompanied by Shahin Ismailov, chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Youth and Sports, and other officials.
