Russian embassy in Germany will restructure its consular services following the closure of Russia’s Consulate General in Bonn and will do everything possible to assist all Russian citizens living in Germany, Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev has said.
He noted that Russia is not going to abandon anyone or leave anyone without attention, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
“We will try to reach everyone promptly. Yes, the distances are long, yes, it will be difficult to gather our compatriots from 600 or more versts away, but we will try to use all the means at our disposal to reach everyone,” Nechaev told Russian journalists.
He urged his compatriots “not to become despondent or shrink back”.
In his words, otherwise, the only people who will be happy are those who came up with all this.
“Because the greatest blow has been dealt precisely to the compatriot movement, which will now find it more difficult to use the services and proximity of the Consulate General. We are not going to abandon anyone or leave anyone without attention,” the diplomat stressed.
He called on his compatriots to show understanding and patience, explaining that, given the current circumstances, consular services could not be provided as promptly as before.
“We very much hope for mutual understanding and that our compatriot movement will preserve both its cohesion and its commitment to its national cultural and historical identity. We are counting on this together with the Russian Orthodox Church,” the ambassador concluded.
