Moldova’s Air Operations Service has detected an unauthorised drone flight that briefly entered the country’s airspace near the village of Palanka, the Moldovan Ministry of Defence said.

According to the ministry, the incident occurred against the backdrop of Russia’s large-scale attacks on Ukraine on September 14, Caliber.Az reports.

The drone entered Moldovan airspace from the direction of Mayaki in Ukraine’s Odesa region, crossed the state border near Palanka and penetrated approximately 500 metres into Moldovan territory.

The aircraft then returned to Ukrainian airspace along the same route.

The incursion was confirmed by both Moldovan and Ukrainian border guards, the ministry said.
