Türkiye and Azerbaijan have discussed enhancing cooperation in communications, media and public diplomacy.
During the talks, the sides – Hikmet Hajiyev, Azerbaijani Presidential Aide and a delegation from the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidential Administration – emphasised the importance of institutional cooperation between the two countries in the field of strategic communications, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The report said they exchanged views on the changing global communications environment, combating disinformation, public diplomacy activities, and strengthening Türkiye and Azerbaijan’s capacity to inform the international community about matters of common interest.
The meeting also highlighted the importance of strategic communications in the context of regional developments and efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
The parties stressed that strong solidarity between Türkiye and Azerbaijan is important not only for bilateral relations, but also for regional cooperation and stability.
According to the report, officials emphasised the importance of further enhancing cooperation in communications in line with the spirit of the alliance, defined by the “One nation, two states” motto and the Shusha Declaration.
Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Professor Birol Akgün also attended the meeting.
The delegations exchanged views on maintaining contacts and joint activities between the relevant institutions of the two countries.
Hajiyev was also invited to visit Türkiye by Professor Burhanettin Duran, head of the Communications Directorate of the Turkish Presidential Administration.
