Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders Mohamed Abdelsalam has praised Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for his attention to the legacy of Muslim scholars.
Abdelsalam made the remarks at the first international scientific-practical conference dedicated to Azerbaijani thinker and scholar Sheikh Seyid Yahya Bakuvi, held in Baku as part of the seventh meeting of the Council of Heads of Muslim Religious Boards of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Caliber.Az reports via local media.
He said the use of religion to fuel conflicts, as well as interfaith and inter-sectarian confrontations, remains a serious concern.
