Kazakh seismologists registered a magnitude 5.1 earthquake in China, the Kazakhstan National Data Centre announced.


The Institute of Geophysical Research at Kazakhstan’s National Nuclear Centre said the tremors were recorded at 2:49 p.m. Astana time on August 20, 2026.


The earthquake’s epicentre was located at 37.88 degrees north latitude and 95.00 degrees east longitude.
