Estonia's newly appointed Ambassador to Baku, Tiina Nirk stressed that her country attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations with Azerbaijan, as she met with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.  


The sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across a range of sectors, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Caliber.Az.


During the meeting, Ambassador Nirk presented copies of her credentials to FM Bayramov, who congratulated her on her appointment and wished her success in her diplomatic mission. 


The discussions focused on prospects for expanding cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transport, and education sectors. The sides also welcomed Estonia's decision to open an embassy in Azerbaijan, describing the move as an important step toward deepening bilateral relations, enhancing political dialogue, and reinforcing the institutional framework of the partnership.


Bayramov and Nirk also emphasized the role of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in promoting stronger economic ties. In addition, they highlighted the importance of broadening cooperation in education, including the expansion of academic exchange programs between universities in the two countries.


Ambassador Nirk reaffirmed Estonia's commitment to strengthening its partnership with Azerbaijan, stressing that her country attaches great importance to the development of bilateral relations and that she would make every effort to further expand cooperation across all areas.
