BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. Azerbaijan plays
the role of a reliable bridge between Central Asia and the South
Caucasus, Azerbaijani MP Soltan Mammadov said in an interview with
Trend.
According to him, the state visit of President Ilham Aliyev to
Kyrgyzstan is of great historical importance not only in terms of
further strengthening relations between the two brotherly
countries, but also in terms of the formation of a new geopolitical
cooperation model in the Turkic world and Central Asia as a
whole.
The MP noted that the results achieved during the visit show
that relations based on common history, language, and
national-spiritual values have already entered a deeper and
institutional stage of strategic partnership.
"The Cholpon-Ata Declaration is of particular importance as one
of the main political documents of the new stage in
Azerbaijan-Central Asian cooperation. This document is an important
strategic roadmap in terms of strengthening mutual trust,
strengthening regional security, expanding transport and logistics
ties, deepening economic integration, and giving new content to
energy, investment, and humanitarian cooperation. The Cholpon-Ata
Declaration will be an important political platform that determines
the future development directions of relations between Azerbaijan
and the Central Asian states, and will also make a significant
contribution to the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in
the Eurasian space," he explained.
Mammadov emphasized that one of the most significant events of
the visit was the mutual highest state awards presented to the
heads of state.
"The awarding of President Ilham Aliyev with the highest state
award of the Kyrgyz Republic - the 1st Class "Manas" Order - is an
expression of the high value placed on President Ilham Aliyev and
his exceptional contributions to strengthening the solidarity of
the Turkic world, expanding regional cooperation, and developing
friendly relations between fraternal peoples. At the same time, the
awarding of President Sadyr Zhaparov with the highest state award
of Azerbaijan - the Heydar Aliyev Order is an important political
event demonstrating the highest level of mutual respect and trust
between our states," he said.
The MP noted that today, as a result of the far-sighted policy
of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan acts as one of the main
centers promoting the integration of the Turkic world, a reliable
bridge between Central Asia and the South Caucasus, and an
influential state that makes significant contributions to global
energy and transport security.
"The new cooperation model that is taking shape is of strategic
importance not only for the sustainable development, stability, and
prosperity of the countries of the region, but also for Eurasia as
a whole. It can be said with confidence that this state visit, the
signed documents, the mutual highest state awards, and the goals
reflected in the Cholpon-Ata Declaration will give a strong impetus
to the future development of Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan relations, as
well as Azerbaijan-Central Asian cooperation, and will further
strengthen the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world," he
added.
