BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 3. The Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has expressed condolences over the
deadly coal mine accident in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
This was stated in a post shared by the ministry on its X
account.
"We are deeply saddened by the news of deadly coal mine accident
in Balochistan, Pakistan, which claimed many lives and caused
injuries.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the
victims and to the brotherly people and government of Pakistan.
We wish a speedy recovery to the injured and hope that all those
affected are brought to safety as swiftly as possible," the post
says.
The accident, which occurred as a result of a methane gas
explosion in the Sorange coal mine in the Balochistan province of
Pakistan, is considered one of the worst mining disasters in the
country in recent years. According to the latest official
information, 34 miners died in the accident, while a total of 36
people were in the mine at the time of the incident, and all the
bodies were recovered after a 45-hour search and rescue operation.
The Pakistani government has set up a special commission to
investigate the causes of the tragedy and is investigating possible
violations of safety regulations at the mine.
