Iran's acting Defence Minister, Ibn al-Reza, called on Islamic countries to pursue practical unity to prevent what he described as “provocative actions” by Israel.

During a phone conversation with Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler, the Iranian minister urged Muslim nations to establish a joint regional security system, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.

He also argued that the presence of external powers in the region is one of the main factors contributing to instability.

The two officials discussed the situation in the Middle East, the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and the further development of defence and security cooperation between Tehran and Ankara.
