At least six people suspected of involvement in a series of wildfires have been arrested in Türkiye, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced on X.
The minister added that investigators are examining 44 wildfires that have occurred across 16 provinces since June 1, Caliber.Az reports.
He said authorities have identified 29 suspects in connection with the fires. Six have been placed under arrest, while another nine have been released under judicial supervision pending further proceedings.
The minister pledged that everyone found responsible for causing forest fires, whether intentionally or through negligence, would be held accountable.
