Representatives of Azerbaijan are open to dialogue and constructive criticism, but deliberately launched smear campaigns against the country are unacceptable, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov said at the opening ceremony of the 7th Diaspora Youth Summer Camp.
“We all, from members of the Milli Majlis [parliament] to the president’s special representatives, are open to dialogue and constructive criticism. Because one of the main tasks assigned to us by our respected president is to eliminate any shortcomings. However, distortion of facts and false smear campaigns against Azerbaijan are unacceptable,” the head of the State Committee stressed.
According to Muradov, some external forces are not happy with Azerbaijan’s successes and achievements, and the reasons for this may vary. He noted that some individuals making negative statements about the country present themselves as Azerbaijanis.
Fuad Muradov called on diaspora youth to remain vigilant when encountering such cases and to defend the interests of their country.
