The first scheduled cargo flight operated by Cathay Pacific Cargo has arrived at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana, marking the launch of a new air freight route linking Asia and Europe via Kazakhstan.
According to Kazinform, the service will initially operate five times per week.
Airport authorities said the new route is expected to expand cargo connectivity between Asian and European markets while enhancing Kazakhstan’s role as a regional transit hub.
Officials added that the launch follows years of efforts to attract a major international cargo carrier and could lay the groundwork for the development of a full-scale air freight network.
