A publication dedicated to August 1 — the Day of the Azerbaijani Alphabet and Azerbaijani Language — has been shared across the official social media accounts of President Ilham Aliyev, underscoring the significance of the national language.

According to Caliber.Az, the message highlights both the global reach of the Azerbaijani language and the role of the state in preserving its standards and heritage.

“Today the Azerbaijani language is native to more than 50 million people. We — the independent Azerbaijani state — are the guardians of the pure, authentic, literary Azerbaijani language,” the publication reads.
