Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine's armed forces had carried out long-range strikes on Russian oil infrastructure and a military target near St. Petersburg, more than 850 kilometres from the Ukrainian border.
In a post on X on July 4, Zelenskyy said the attacks targeted port oil infrastructure that he said helps finance Russia's war effort, as well as facilities in Kronstadt, a strategically important military base near St. Petersburg, Caliber.Az reports.
He added that the targets were located more than 850 kilometres from Ukraine's state border and thanked the country's armed forces for carrying out what he described as Ukraine's long-range operations.
"My thanks to everyone who is ensuring Ukraine's precision and carrying out our long-range sanctions plan. Glory to Ukraine!" he wrote.
