Azerbaijan has dispatched another group of former internally displaced persons to settlements and villages in territories reclaimed from Armenian occupation, as part of the government's Great Return programme.


The latest relocation involves families moving to the Karkijahan settlement in Khankendi, the Hadrut settlement in the Khojavend district, the village of Shukurbeyli in the Jabrayil district, the village of Boyuk Galaderesi in the Shusha district, the villages of Ballija, Badara and Khanabad in the Khojaly district, and the villages of Childiran, Vangli and Hasanriz in the Aghdara district.


According to the state news agency, the families had previously been living in temporary accommodation across Azerbaijan, including dormitories, sanatoriums and administrative buildings.


At this stage, eight families comprising 34 people are relocating to Karkijahan, while four families with 15 people are moving to Hadrut. Another seven families, totalling 28 people, are returning to Shukurbeyli, and three families comprising 14 people are settling in Boyuk Galaderesi.


In the Khojaly district, two families with seven people are relocating to Ballija, while two families comprising five people each are moving to Badara and Khanabad.


Meanwhile, 13 families totalling 53 people are returning to Hasanriz, another 13 families with 53 people are relocating to Childiran, and four families comprising 23 people are moving to Vangli in the Aghdara district.
