Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said discussions were held on the strategic direction of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group during the institution’s 2026 Annual Meetings, focusing on development priorities and financing frameworks for member states.
In a statement on X, Jabbarov noted that participants reviewed the IsDB Group’s recent performance and outlined future priorities, with particular emphasis on promoting inclusive economic development and expanding sustainable financing mechanisms across member countries.
The talks also highlighted initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation between member states and advancing joint development projects under the IsDB framework.
During the meetings, the chairmanship of the IsDB Board of Governors was formally handed over to the Islamic Development Bank from Burkina Faso, marking a leadership transition within the institution’s governing structure.
