The memorandum between the United States and Iran was signed in both English and Persian at the insistence of the Iranian side to ensure transparency, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has stated.
In an interview with Iranian state broadcaster IRIB, he said the decision was intended to prevent discrepancies in interpretation, Caliber.Az reports, citing CNN.
“This represents the highest level of transparency in our public communication,” he noted.
According to him, if the text existed only in English, there could be subjective or divergent translation versions.
Baghaei added that the Persian version of the text fully matches the English version and that Iran considers it “fully authoritative and legally binding.”
