Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni told fellow leaders at the G7 summit in France that she quit smoking a month ago.

According to Euronews, the remark came during a conversation with other leaders when Meloni said she wanted a cup of coffee. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz jokingly asked whether she would also like a cigarette.

“No, I stopped,” Meloni replied.

In response, Ursula von der Leyen exclaimed, “Bravo,” while other politicians were also heard offering words of encouragement and approval.
