Azerbaijan and the Federated States of Micronesia have formally established diplomatic relations following the signing of a joint communiqué at the United Nations in New York, according to a statement by the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN.

The agreement was signed by Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Tofig Musayev, and his counterpart from the Federated States of Micronesia, Jeem Lippwe.
The document reflects both countries’ intention to develop friendly relations and strengthen cooperation, including efforts to enhance mutual understanding between their peoples.
It also underscores that the establishment of diplomatic ties is based on the UN Charter and principles of international law, including respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference in domestic affairs.
The communiqué has been circulated as an official UN document.
