Margarita Simonyan, Editor-in-Chief of Russia Today TV channel, has criticised President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Armenia, describing it as a sign of what she called “ingratitude” towards Russia’s interests.

According to a video shared by Armenian analyst Artur Magakyan on Instagram, Simonyan expressed strong disapproval of Yerevan’s increasingly independent foreign policy stance.

She raised questions relating to the “protection of the Russian-speaking population” and Russia’s broader interests in the region.

Simonyan also warned that even if Russian President Vladimir Putin does not take action, a future successor “will certainly take measures” in response to Armenia’s current direction.
