The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Iran, Jeyhun Bayramov and Seyed Abbas Araghchi, held a telephone conversation on May 1 to discuss bilateral ties and the current regional situation.


Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs told Caliber.Az that the talks focused on relations between the two countries, as well as broader developments in the region.


During the call, Araghchi briefed Bayramov on Iran’s recent peace initiatives and outlined Tehran’s position on ending the ongoing military situation in the region.


Both sides stressed the importance of continued efforts to ensure stability and security and to reduce tensions. They also exchanged views on a range of regional and international issues of mutual interest.
