The National Police of Ukraine has uncovered 20 caches of weapons and ammunition during a series of coordinated searches across the country, authorities said.
Law enforcement officers carried out more than 180 searches in multiple regions. As a result, 32 individuals have been charged with the illegal possession and sale of weapons, Ukrainian media reports.
The caches were discovered both in frontline areas and in western regions, including Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Chernivtsi.
Police said that over the course of the week, they seized a large quantity of illegal weapons, including 154 small arms, 904 grenades, mines, and a grenade launcher. Authorities also confiscated more than 56,500 rounds of ammunition and nearly 80 kilograms of explosives.
Officials said the operation was part of ongoing efforts to curb the illegal circulation of weapons amid the ongoing conflict.
