Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, has accused the United States Department of Defence of providing misleading information about the cost of Washington’s military involvement related to Iran.

In a post on X, Araghchi said, “The Pentagon is lying. Netanyahu's gamble has directly cost America $100b so far, four times what is claimed," Caliber.Az reports.

He added that the indirect financial burden on US taxpayers is significantly higher, claiming, “Monthly bill for each American household is $500 and rising fast. Israel First always means America Last.”

The remarks follow testimony before the House Armed Services Committee by Jules Hurst, who said the US military campaign involving Iran has cost approximately $25 billion to date.
