Ukrainian officials have been instructed to contact the team of US President Donald Trump to clarify details of a Russian proposal for a short-term ceasefire, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
In a message on his Telegram channel, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine seeks peace and is conducting necessary diplomatic efforts aimed at a real end to the war.
“We will find out what exactly this is about: a few hours of security for a parade in Moscow or something more significant. Our goal is to establish a long-term ceasefire, guarantee reliable protection for people, and ensure lasting peace. Ukraine is ready to work for this in any dignified and effective format,” he said.
