Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has outlined strict conditions governing passage through the Strait of Hormuz, limiting access to civilian vessels operating under Iranian rules during a temporary ceasefire.
According to Nour News, a representative of the IRGC Navy said that only civilian ships will be permitted to transit the strategic waterway, and only if they adhere to routes and regulations set by Iran.
“No military vessel has the right to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. Any passage is possible only with the permission of the IRGC Navy. These restrictions are in effect within the framework of a ‘temporary ceasefire.’ If the ceasefire is violated, the Strait of Hormuz will return to the conditions of the 40-day war; even commercial vessels will be prohibited from passing,” the representative said.
