The Strait of Hormuz has never been under Iran’s unilateral authority to close or restrict maritime passage through, Sultan Al Jaber, the CEO of the UAE’s state oil giant ADNOC, said.


In a post on X, he warned that any disruption to navigation would pose a serious risk to global energy, food, and healthcare security. He also stressed that normalising such restrictions would set a dangerous and unacceptable precedent for international shipping and trade.


“The ⁠world simply ⁠cannot afford it and must not allow ‌it,” he added.
