French President Emmanuel Macron has held talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the situation in the Middle East, focusing on regional security and maritime stability.

Macron said on X that he reaffirmed support for a ceasefire regime, stressing it must be strictly observed and extended to Lebanon, Caliber.Az reports.

The two leaders also discussed the urgent need to restore free and secure navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route.

“With talks in Islamabad having just begun, we agreed to remain in close contact to help de-escalation, freedom of navigation and a deal that ensures lasting peace and security in the region,” Macron wrote.
