French President Emmanuel Macron expressed France’s full solidarity with Lebanon after phone discussions with President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam regarding the April 9 Israeli strikes, causing significant civilian casualties.
He emphasised that these attacks pose a direct threat to the recently achieved truce and that Lebanon must be fully covered by its provisions.
“I reiterated the need to preserve Lebanon’s territorial integrity and France’s determination to support the efforts of the Lebanese authorities to uphold the country’s sovereignty and implement the Hezbollah disarmament plan,” the president added.
