BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 3. Uzbekistan’s Fergana
region hosted an international conference titled “A New Era of
Friendship Between Central Asian Countries and Azerbaijan” as part
of the “Central Asia and Azerbaijan” friendship forum, Trend reports.


The event brought together senior officials, including First
Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of
Azerbaijan, Valeh Hajiyev, who attended alongside committee
representatives.


Ahead of the conference, participants visited the “Friendship
Stele” monument in Fergana, laying flowers in tribute to the
enduring ties of brotherhood and solidarity among nations.


Speakers at the event included Chairman of Uzbekistan’s
Committee on Interethnic Relations and Relations with Compatriots
Abroad Kahraman Sariyev, First Deputy Minister of Labor, Social
Security, and Migration of Kyrgyzstan Kamchybek Dosmatov,
representative of the Tajikistan Society for Friendship and
Cultural Relations Ibrahim Abdullozoda, and Vice President of
Kazakhstan’s Otandastar Foundation Alibek Jurkadam, among
others.


Conveying greetings from Committee Chairman Fuad Muradov,
Hajiyev emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan
have reached the level of strategic partnership, driven by the
shared political will of their leaders. He noted that intensified
political dialogue has fostered steady growth in trade, economic,
cultural, humanitarian, and interregional cooperation.


Hajiyev highlighted successful examples of bilateral
cooperation, including the establishment of the Heydar Aliyev Park
and the “Azerbaijan” Park in Tashkent, as well as the “Uzbekistan”
Park in Baku. He also underscored the contributions of Central
Asian countries to reconstruction efforts in Azerbaijan’s liberated
territories, noting Uzbekistan’s construction of a secondary school
in Fuzuli, Kazakhstan’s development of a children’s creative
center, and Kyrgyzstan’s building of a training center in
Aghdam.














At the conclusion of the forum, participants agreed to transform
the platform into a permanent dialogue mechanism and to implement
joint initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of the
Fergana region.


Several participants, including Hajiyev, were awarded the
“Friendship of Peoples” badge in recognition of their active
involvement.


On the sidelines of the conference, a bilateral meeting was also
held between Kahraman Sariyev and Valeh Hajiyev, during which the
parties discussed strengthening solidarity, cooperation, and
coordination among diasporas against the backdrop of deepening
friendly and fraternal ties between their countries.
