Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, held a phone call with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, to address the escalating tensions in the region.

During the call, the ministers discussed “the dangerous escalation in the region and its repercussions on regional and international security and stability,” as well as “the prospects for restoring calm through diplomatic engagement to ensure regional security, stability, and respect for state sovereignty,” a statement from Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The two officials also “renewed their condemnation of the unjustified Iranian attacks on the territories of Jordan and brotherly Arabian Gulf states,” highlighting the need for restraint and continued diplomatic efforts to prevent further destabilization.
