Iran’s nationwide internet blackout has entered its twelfth day, with connectivity remaining at just 1% of normal levels after 264 hours of disruption, the monitoring group NetBlocks announced.


The update was shared by NetBlocks in a post on the social networking platform Mastodon, Caliber.Az reports.






“Iran's internet blackout is entering its twelfth day after 264 hours with connectivity still at 1% of ordinary levels,” the organization said.


NetBlocks also noted that a spokesperson for the Iranian authorities had confirmed observations suggesting the existence of a “whitelist” system for internet access.


“Meanwhile, the regime's spokesperson has confirmed observations pointing to a whitelisting system, stating that only the approved are given a voice,” the internet monitoring group added.
