Recent talks in Geneva were disrupted due to a sudden change in the position of the United States, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi said in an interview with France24.

According to Takht-Ravanchi, Washington missed an opportunity to resolve the conflict diplomatically. He stressed that Tehran engaged in the dialogue in good faith and made every effort to reach a result, describing the last round of negotiations as “successful.”

He added: “This question should be posed to Americans why they changed their mind, why they resorted to force,” emphasising Tehran’s position on the matter.
