French President Emmanuel Macron has proposed the creation of an international maritime security coalition in response to escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Macron said that France was taking the initiative to build a coalition in order to pool resources, including military assets, to resume and secure traffic in maritime routes that are essential to the global economy, Caliber.Az reports per his post on X.

He also shared a map illustrating the route from the Persian Gulf to the Suez Canal via the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Aden, and the Red Sea.

The proposal comes as regional tensions threaten vital shipping lanes, which are critical for global trade and energy supplies.
