The United States Armed Forces expended approximately $779 million during the first 24 hours of combat operations in the Middle East, representing about 0.1% of the country’s projected military budget for 2026, Anadolu Agency reports.
The report states that the largest portion of the spending — $340.4 million — was allocated to the launch of Tomahawk cruise missiles. Fighter jet sorties accounted for the second-largest expense, totaling $271.3 million.
Additional costs included $122.2 million for the deployment of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems, intelligence-gathering activities, and logistical support operations.
Strikes conducted by B-2 strategic bombers added a further $30.2 million to the overall total, the agency reported.
