A Mi-8 helicopter operated by Yamal Airlines made a hard landing in Russia’s far north on February 21, 2026, leaving three people injured.


The aircraft was flying from Panaevsk to Yar-Sale when it came down approximately 400 metres short of its intended landing site, Caliber.Az reports via Ural Transport Prosecutor's Office.


There were 10 people on board. The captain sustained a head injury, while the flight engineer suffered an arm injury. A female passenger was reported to have experienced a hypertensive crisis following the landing.


No fatalities were reported. The circumstances surrounding the hard landing have not yet been clarified.
