Kazakhstan and Russia are conducting joint air defence training exercises as part of their integrated regional air defence system, authorities said.
The scheduled drills are taking place from February 20 to March 10, 2026. According to the Kazakh Defence Ministry, the exercises involve practising the detection and tracking of aerial targets, intercepting unidentified aircraft and, if necessary, compelling them to land at designated airfields, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
The ministry said the training is routine and aimed at improving coordination, combat training and the operational readiness of air defence forces on duty.
