Azerbaijani officials are exploring the establishment of a joint artificial insemination center in Azerbaijan during a visit to Israel, aimed at boosting the country’s dairy sector and agricultural productivity.
During the visit, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov and his delegation toured several leading Israeli agroindustrial enterprises, including a farm operated by three kibbutz communities with an annual milk production of 12,000 tons, Israel’s largest artificial insemination center, SION, and a modern milk processing facility supplying a significant portion of the population with dairy products, Caliber.Az reports.
Officials received detailed briefings on production and management systems, innovative technologies, genetic selection, and digital solutions used in livestock breeding. Discussions focused on sharing best international practices, developing technical expertise, and training specialists in the field.
Mammadov also highlighted exchanges on state support mechanisms, investment incentives, and regulatory frameworks in the dairy processing industry, emphasising that the visit is expected to strengthen Azerbaijani-Israeli cooperation and enhance the competitiveness of the country’s agricultural sector.
“I believe that the visit will play an important role in increasing agricultural productivity, organising competitive production, and deepening Azerbaijani-Israeli cooperation,” Mammadov wrote on X.
