Elon Musk, CEO of X, has sharply criticized the European Union’s governance model while highlighting the platform’s growing influence across the continent.
Musk claimed that X has surpassed all other news sources in the EU, which comprises 27 member states, becoming the preferred choice for news consumption, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
In a repost on his X account, listing all 27 EU countries, Musk wrote, “X is seeing record-breaking downloads in many countries in Europe.” The list included Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Cyprus, Croatia, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Germany, Ireland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden.
While no detailed data was provided, Musk’s post suggested that users across these nations are increasingly relying on X for news, signaling his confidence in the platform’s expanding role in Europe’s information ecosystem.
Shortly after touting X’s reach, Musk published another message sharply criticizing the EU. “The EU is not DEMOcracy–rule of the people–but rather BUREAUcracy–rule of the unelected bureaucrat,” he wrote.
