Armenian opposition figure Aregnaz Manukyan has been released from detention and placed under house arrest, according to foreign media.
Manukyan, a representative of the Mother Armenia party, had been held for nearly two and a half months. She is accused of disclosing information containing state secrets.
The development comes after it was reported on September 8 that the detention of Mother Armenia chairman Andranik Tevanyan had been extended by three months.
According to the charges, Tevanyan allegedly passed classified information from a closed session of Armenia’s National Assembly to a Russian centre through MP Aregnaz Manukyan in 2024.
