The detention of nine people, including three Azerbaijani citizens, in connection with the shipwreck off the coast of Northern Cyprus has been extended by another seven days, the sister of one of the detainees, Rashad Ibrahimov, has said.
Turkan Tahmazova noted that the decision was made following another court hearing as part of an investigation being conducted in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The next court hearing is scheduled for September 25.
On August 30, a vessel sank off the coast of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus, with 239 people rescued.
The death toll has reached 15, while the search continues for 13 passengers reported missing.
