The Russian military base in Armenia comes at a high cost to the country, but Yerevan is ready to discuss both its withdrawal and continued presence, Armenian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Vahagn Aleksanyan said.

According to Aleksanyan, Armenia has not received any official communication from Moscow indicating that Russia intends to withdraw its military base from the city of Gyumri.

“If they [Russia] want to withdraw the military base, they should say so. If they do not want to, that is also a subject for discussion. We are ready to discuss it,” Aleksanyan underlined.
