Denmark will summon Russia’s ambassador over an incident in the Baltic Sea in which Danish authorities said flares were fired from a Russian warship toward a Danish military helicopter.

Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said the ambassador would be called in for talks to discuss the incident, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media. 


According to Danish authorities, the helicopter was conducting a routine aerial reconnaissance mission of a Russian frigate in international waters south of Gedser when the ship fired two signal flares. One of the flares passed close to the helicopter, the Danish side said.
