Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR has made its sixth interest payment on its green bonds, with a total of $3 million transferred to bondholders’ accounts, SOCAR Capital told Report.
The latest payment brings the total income paid to investors on SOCAR’s green bonds to $18 million, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The green purpose-linked bonds were issued by SOCAR on January 15, 2025, as part of efforts to support Azerbaijan’s green energy strategy and have attracted considerable investor interest.
Since secondary-market trading began on March 7, 2025, a total of 580 transactions worth more than $55.6 million have been conducted in SOCAR’s green bonds on the Baku Stock Exchange.
The bonds have a five-year maturity and an annual yield of 6%. They are exempt from all taxes, while coupon payments are made quarterly. By the end of the five-year term, the bonds are expected to generate a total of $60 million in income for investors.
Official information on SOCAR bonds is available through *1999, the socarcapital.az and socaristiqraz.az websites, ASAN service centres No. 1 and No. 5, and investment companies officially registered in Azerbaijan.
