Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said it is too early to discuss whether he will run in the next presidential election, the presidential press service reported.

“The Constitutional Court made such a decision. It is lawful, and I have the right to be re-elected in accordance with the law. But as for the upcoming election — whether I will run or not, and in what year — it is premature to speculate.

We have many tasks to accomplish for the country and, in fact, to turn all of Kazakhstan into a major construction site for social facilities,” Tokayev told journalists.

The president added that he would be able to give a more specific answer about his re-election in 2027.
