President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visit Independence Monument in Tashkent

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, August 23. On August 23,
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady
Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Independence Monument in Tashkent,
Trend's special
correspondent reports.

President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the monument.

The monument was erected in the center of the “Yangi Uzbekistan”
(“New Uzbekistan”) complex to mark the 30th anniversary of
Uzbekistan’s independence. It is topped by a figure of the Huma
bird with its wings spread wide, symbolizing peace, freedom,
kindness, and happiness. The monument was designed at the
initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
