BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. Kazakhstan’s
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol
Pashinyan discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral
relations during a phone conversation.
According to the press service of the Kazakh president, Tokayev
congratulated Pashinyan on his reappointment as Prime Minister of
Armenia and wished him success in his state activities for the
benefit of the Armenian people.
Pashinyan thanked Tokayev for the congratulations and wished the
President and people of Kazakhstan success in the upcoming Kurultai
elections.
"The sides noted with satisfaction the positive dynamics in the
development of Kazakh-Armenian relations and confirmed their
commitment to deepening the multifaceted cooperation between the
two countries," the press service notes.
The parties discussed the implementation of previously reached
agreements, including those achieved during Pashinyan’s official
visit to Astana in November last year.
During that visit on 20–21 November 2025, the sides
adopted a joint statement. In their presence, the representatives
exchanged 15 intergovernmental and interagency documents, including
a Roadmap for trade and economic cooperation for 2026–2030,
agreements on the protection of classified information and the
mutual allocation of land for diplomatic missions, as well as
memorandums covering industry, digitalization and artificial
intelligence, agriculture, healthcare, science and education, the
peaceful use of atomic energy, and the establishment of a
Kazakhstan-Armenia Business Council. The leaders also discussed
expanding transport links, including the prospect of direct flights
between Astana and Yerevan, and Kazakhstan’s readiness to supply
goods worth around $350 million to the Armenian market.
Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation in
trade and economic relations, transport and logistics, as well as
cultural and humanitarian ties.
